The Divine Glory Returns to the Temple
43 Then he brought me to the gate, the gate facing east. 2 And there, the glory of the God of Israel was coming from the east; the sound was like the sound of mighty waters; and the earth shone with his glory. 3 The[a] vision I saw was like the vision that I had seen when he came to destroy the city, and[b] like the vision that I had seen by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face. 4 As the glory of the Lord entered the temple by the gate facing east, 5 the spirit lifted me up, and brought me into the inner court; and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.
6 While the man was standing beside me, I heard someone speaking to me out of the temple. 7 He said to me: Mortal, this is the place of my throne and the place for the soles of my feet, where I will reside among the people of Israel forever. The house of Israel shall no more defile my holy name, neither they nor their kings, by their whoring, and by the corpses of their kings at their death.[c] 8 When they placed their threshold by my threshold and their doorposts beside my doorposts, with only a wall between me and them, they were defiling my holy name by their abominations that they committed; therefore I have consumed them in my anger. 9 Now let them put away their idolatry and the corpses of their kings far from me, and I will reside among them forever.
10 As for you, mortal, describe the temple to the house of Israel, and let them measure the pattern; and let them be ashamed of their iniquities. 11 When they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the plan of the temple, its arrangement, its exits and its entrances, and its whole form—all its ordinances and its entire plan and all its laws; and write it down in their sight, so that they may observe and follow the entire plan and all its ordinances. 12 This is the law of the temple: the whole territory on the top of the mountain all around shall be most holy. This is the law of the temple.
The Altar
13 These are the dimensions of the altar by cubits (the cubit being one cubit and a handbreadth): its base shall be one cubit high,[d] and one cubit wide, with a rim of one span around its edge. This shall be the height of the altar: 14 From the base on the ground to the lower ledge, two cubits, with a width of one cubit; and from the smaller ledge to the larger ledge, four cubits, with a width of one cubit; 15 and the altar hearth, four cubits; and from the altar hearth projecting upward, four horns. 16 The altar hearth shall be square, twelve cubits long by twelve wide. 17 The ledge also shall be square, fourteen cubits long by fourteen wide, with a rim around it half a cubit wide, and its surrounding base, one cubit. Its steps shall face east.
18 Then he said to me: Mortal, thus says the Lord God: These are the ordinances for the altar: On the day when it is erected for offering burnt offerings upon it and for dashing blood against it, 19 you shall give to the levitical priests of the family of Zadok, who draw near to me to minister to me, says the Lord God, a bull for a sin offering. 20 And you shall take some of its blood, and put it on the four horns of the altar, and on the four corners of the ledge, and upon the rim all around; thus you shall purify it and make atonement for it. 21 You shall also take the bull of the sin offering, and it shall be burnt in the appointed place belonging to the temple, outside the sacred area.
22 On the second day you shall offer a male goat without blemish for a sin offering; and the altar shall be purified, as it was purified with the bull. 23 When you have finished purifying it, you shall offer a bull without blemish and a ram from the flock without blemish. 24 You shall present them before the Lord, and the priests shall throw salt on them and offer them up as a burnt offering to the Lord. 25 For seven days you shall provide daily a goat for a sin offering; also a bull and a ram from the flock, without blemish, shall be provided. 26 Seven days shall they make atonement for the altar and cleanse it, and so consecrate it. 27 When these days are over, then from the eighth day onward the priests shall offer upon the altar your burnt offerings and your offerings of well-being; and I will accept you, says the Lord God.

18 (D)Egli mi disse: «Figlio d’uomo, così parla il Signore, Dio: “Ecco i regolamenti dell’altare per il giorno che sarà costruito per offrirvi su l’olocausto e per farvi l’aspersione del sangue. 19 Ai sacerdoti levitici, che sono della stirpe di Sadoc, i quali si accostano a me per servirmi”, dice il Signore, Dio, “darai un toro per un sacrificio espiatorio. 20 Prenderai del suo sangue e ne metterai sopra i quattro corni dell’altare, ai quattro angoli dei gradini e sull’orlo tutto intorno; purificherai così l’altare e farai l’espiazione per esso. 21 Prenderai il toro del sacrificio espiatorio e lo si brucerà in un luogo designato della casa, fuori del santuario. 22 Il secondo giorno offrirai come sacrificio espiatorio un capro senza difetto; con esso si purificherà l’altare come lo si è purificato con il toro. 23 Quando avrai finito di fare quella purificazione, offrirai un toro senza difetto e un capro del gregge, senza difetto. 24 Li presenterai davanti al Signore; i sacerdoti vi getteranno su del sale e li offriranno in olocausto al Signore. 25 Per sette giorni offrirai ogni giorno un capro come sacrificio espiatorio; si offrirà pure un toro e un montone del gregge, senza difetto. 26 Per sette giorni si farà l’espiazione per l’altare, lo si purificherà e lo si consacrerà. 27 Quando quei giorni saranno compiuti, l’ottavo giorno e in seguito, i sacerdoti offriranno sull’altare i vostri olocausti e i vostri sacrifici di riconoscenza; e io vi gradirò”, dice il Signore, Dio».

2 Und siehe, da kam die Herrlichkeit des Gottes Israels von Osten her, und seine Stimme war wie das Rauschen großer Wasser, und die Erde wurde von seiner Herrlichkeit erleuchtet.
3 Und der Anblick der Erscheinung, die ich sah, war wie der Anblick, den ich sah, als ich kam, um die Stadt zu zerstören.[a] Die Erscheinung glich derjenigen, die ich am Fluss Kebar gesehen hatte. Und ich fiel nieder auf mein Angesicht.
4 Und die Herrlichkeit des Herrn kam zu dem Haus [des Tempels], auf dem Weg durch das Tor, das nach Osten gerichtet war.
5 Und der Geist hob mich empor und führte mich in den inneren Vorhof, und siehe, die Herrlichkeit des Herrn erfüllte das Haus.
6 Und ich hörte jemand vom Haus her mit mir reden, während der Mann neben mir stand.
7 Und er sprach zu mir: Menschensohn, dies ist der Ort für meinen Thron und die Stätte für meine Fußsohlen, wo ich inmitten der Kinder Israels ewiglich wohnen will! Und das Haus Israel wird künftig meinen heiligen Namen nicht mehr verunreinigen, weder sie noch ihre Könige, durch ihre Hurerei, durch die Leichname ihrer Könige und ihre Höhen,
8 wie damals, als sie ihre Schwellen an meine Schwellen und ihre Türpfosten neben meine Türpfosten setzten, dass nur eine Mauer zwischen mir und ihnen war. So haben sie meinen heiligen Namen verunreinigt mit ihren Gräueln, die sie verübten, sodass ich sie in meinem Zorn verzehrte.
9 Nun werden sie ihre Hurerei und die Leichname ihrer Könige von mir entfernen, und ich will ewiglich in ihrer Mitte wohnen.
10 Du aber, Menschensohn, beschreibe dem Haus Israel diesen Tempel, damit sie sich ihrer Missetaten schämen; und lass sie den Bau messen.
11 Wenn sie sich dann aller ihrer Taten schämen, die sie begangen haben, so zeige ihnen die Form dieses Tempels und seine Einrichtung und seine Ausgänge und seine Eingänge und alle seine Formen und alle seine Satzungen, ja, verkünde ihnen alle seine Formen und alle seine Gesetze, und schreibe es vor ihren Augen auf, damit sie alle seine Formen und Satzungen behalten und es so machen.
12 Dies ist das Gesetz des [Tempel-]Hauses: Auf der Höhe des Berges[b] soll sein ganzes Gebiet ringsum hochheilig sein. Siehe, das ist das Gesetz des Hauses.
Der Brandopferaltar
13 Und dies sind die Maße des Altars, nach Ellen gerechnet, von denen jede eine [kleine] Elle und eine Handbreite misst:[c] Seine Grundeinfassung: eine Elle hoch und eine Elle breit; und seine Randleiste ringsum: eine Spanne breit. Und dies ist der Sockel des Altars.
14 Von der Grundeinfassung am Boden bis an den unteren Absatz: 2 Ellen [hoch], und die Breite: eine Elle. Und von dem kleinen Absatz bis zum größeren: 4 Ellen [hoch], und die Breite: eine Elle.
15 Der Gottesherd ist 4 Ellen [hoch], und von dem Gottesherd ragen die vier Hörner empor.
16 Und der Gottesherd ist 12 Ellen lang und 12 Ellen breit; seine vier Seiten bilden ein Quadrat.
17 Und der [mittlere] Absatz ist 14 Ellen lang und 14 Ellen breit auf seinen vier Seiten, und die Randleiste rings um ihn her eine halbe Elle, und seine Grundeinfassung eine Elle ringsum, und seine Stufen sind nach Osten gewandt.
18 Und er sprach zu mir: Menschensohn, so spricht Gott, der Herr: Dies sind die Verordnungen für den Altar, an dem Tag, da man ihn errichten wird, damit man Brandopfer darauf darbringe und Blut an ihn sprenge.
19 Und den levitischen Priestern, die vom Samen Zadoks sind, die sich zu mir nahen, um mir zu dienen, spricht Gott, der Herr, sollst du einen jungen Stier als Sündopfer geben.
20 Und du sollst von seinem Blut nehmen und es auf die vier Hörner [des Altars] tun und auf die vier Ecken des Absatzes und auf die Randleiste ringsum und sollst ihn so entsündigen und für ihn Sühnung erwirken.

24 Und du sollst sie vor dem Herrn darbringen, und die Priester sollen Salz darauf streuen und sie dem Herrn als Brandopfer darbringen.
25 Sieben Tage lang sollst du täglich einen Bock als Sündopfer opfern; man soll auch einen jungen Stier opfern und einen Widder vom Kleinvieh, beide makellos.
26 Sieben Tage lang soll man für den Altar Sühnung erwirken und ihn reinigen und ihn so einweihen.
27 Wenn dann die Tage vollendet sind, sollen die Priester am achten Tag und künftig immer eure Brandopfer und eure Dankopfer auf dem Altar zurichten, so will ich euch gnädig sein,[d] spricht Gott, der Herr.

10 Most pedig, ember fia, mutasd meg és magyarázd el Izráel népének a Templomot, amelyet láttál, hogy azt tekintsék mértéknek és mintának, és szégyelljék el magukat bűneik miatt! 11 Ha majd szégyellik magukat mindazért, amit tettek, mondd el nekik mindazt, amit láttál a Templomból: a formáját, méreteit, elrendezését, kijáratait és bejáratait, minden rendelkezésemet és törvényemet, amely a Templommal kapcsolatos! Mindent gondosan jegyezz fel, hogy megőrizzék a terveket és leírásokat, hogy mindent annak megfelelően készítsenek el, és úgy végezzék a templomi szolgálatot.

Az oltár tövénél egy vízszintes csatorna fut körbe, amelynek mélysége és szélessége egyaránt 1 könyök,[a] és a szélén 1 arasznyi[b] pereme van.
Az oltár magassága 14 a talajszinttől az alsó párkányig 2 könyök. Az alsó párkány szélessége 1 könyök. Magassága az alsó párkánytól a fölsőig 4 könyök. A fölső párkány szélessége 1 könyök. 15-16 Az oltár belsejében van a tűzhely, amelynek mélysége 4 könyök, széle és hossza pedig 12 könyök: tökéletesen négyzet alakú. Az oltár négy szögletén egy-egy szarv formájú kiemelkedés található. 17 A fölső párkány mérete minden oldalán 14 könyök. Ennek pereme félkönyöknyi. 18 Ezután az a férfi folytatta: „Ember fia, ezt mondja Uram, az Örökkévaló: »Ezek az oltár használatának törvényei: Arra szolgál, hogy égőáldozatokat mutassanak be rajta, és vérrel meghintsék.
Azon a napon, amelyen az oltár építését befejezik, 19 adjatok egy fiatal bikaborjút bűnért való áldozatul azoknak a lévita papoknak, akik Cádók leszármazottjai. Ők azok, akik közel jöhetnek hozzám, hogy papi szolgálatot végezzenek.« — ezt mondja Uram, az Örökkévaló. — 20 »Ennek a bikaborjúnak a vérével kenjék meg az oltár négy szarvát, a párkány négy sarkát, és a felső peremét körös-körül. 4 La gloire de l’Eternel entra dans le Temple par la porte orientale.

10 Quant à toi, fils d’homme, décris ce temple à la communauté d’Israël pour qu’ils aient honte de leurs péchés, et qu’ils mesurent les plans de cet édifice. 11 Et s’ils ont vraiment honte de tout ce qu’ils ont fait, fais-leur connaître la configuration de ce temple, sa structure, ses entrées et ses sorties, oui, toute sa configuration, et toutes les prescriptions et les lois qui lui sont relatives. Mets-les par écrit sous leurs yeux et qu’ils obéissent à cette configuration et à ces prescriptions pour les appliquer. 12 C’est ici la loi du Temple qui se trouve au sommet de la montagne : son territoire tout autour est très saint. Oui, telle est la loi du Temple.
Le culte dans le nouveau temple
13 Et voici les dimensions de l’autel, données en grandes coudées, c’est-à-dire une coudée étant augmentée d’une paume : tout autour de la base de l’autel court un fossé ayant une coudée de profondeur et autant de largeur ; il est entouré d’un rebord d’une paume. Pour la hauteur de l’autel, 14 depuis la base de l’autel, enterrée dans le sol, jusqu’au socle inférieur, il y a deux coudées. La section suivante est d’une coudée en retrait et, depuis le petit socle jusqu’au grand, elle a quatre coudées de haut. Puis vient un nouveau rebord d’une coudée de large. 15 Le sommet de l’autel, avec le foyer[e], a quatre coudées de hauteur, il est surmonté de quatre cornes. 16 Ce foyer forme un carré de douze coudées de côté. 17 Le grand socle est également un carré ayant quatorze coudées de côté avec un rebord d’une demi-coudée tout autour et un fossé d’une coudée tout autour. Les marches pour monter à l’autel se trouvent du côté est.
18 Le personnage me dit : Fils d’homme, voici ce que déclare le Seigneur, l’Eternel : Les prescriptions concernant l’autel pour le jour où il sera construit afin d’y offrir l’holocauste et d’y faire l’aspersion du sang sont les suivantes : 19 tu remettras un jeune taureau comme sacrifice pour le péché aux prêtres-lévites qui sont de la postérité de Tsadoq et qui s’approchent de moi pour officier pour mon culte ; le Seigneur, l’Eternel, le déclare. 20 Tu prendras de son sang et tu l’appliqueras sur les quatre cornes de l’autel ainsi que sur les quatre angles du socle et sur le rebord qui l’entoure ; tu purifieras ainsi l’autel et tu accompliras le rite d’expiation pour lui. 21 Tu prendras ensuite le taureau qui a été offert pour le péché et tu le brûleras dans le lieu du Temple réservé à cet usage, en dehors du sanctuaire.
22 Le second jour, tu offriras pour le péché un jeune bouc sans défaut et l’on purifiera l’autel comme on l’a fait avec le taureau. 23 Quand tu auras terminé ce rite de purification, tu offriras un jeune taureau sans défaut et un bélier sans défaut pris dans le troupeau. 24 Tu les présenteras devant l’Eternel ; les prêtres jetteront du sel[f] sur eux et les offriront en holocaustes à l’Eternel. 25 Pendant sept jours consécutifs, tu offriras chaque jour un bouc en sacrifice pour le péché, puis un jeune taureau et un bélier sans défaut pris dans le troupeau. 26 Pendant sept jours, on accomplira le rite d’expiation pour l’autel, on le purifiera et on le consacrera. 27 Une fois ces jours passés, les prêtres offriront sur l’autel, le huitième jour et les jours suivants, vos holocaustes et vos sacrifices de communion, et je vous agréerai, le Seigneur, l’Eternel, le déclare.
