The width of the gate was 24½ feet,[a] and the side walls of the gate were[b] 5¼ feet[c] wide on each side. 49 The portico was 35 feet[d] across and 21[e] feet[f] deep, and 10 steps led[g] up to it.(A) There were pillars by the jambs, one on each side.(B)
