Ezekiel 3:18-21

New International Version

¹⁸When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,^(A)’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for^[a] their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.^(B) ¹⁹But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn^(C) from their wickedness^(D) or from their evil ways, they will die^(E) for their sin; but you will have saved yourself.^(F)

²⁰“Again, when a righteous person turns^(G) from their righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block^(H) before them, they will die. Since you did not warn them, they will die for their sin. The righteous things that person did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for their blood.^(I) ²¹But if you do warn the righteous person not to sin and they do not sin, they will surely live because they took warning, and you will have saved yourself.^(J)”

¹⁸When I say to the wicked, ‘You will certainly die,’ and you do not warn him or speak out to tell him to turn from his wicked way to save his life, that same evil man will die in his sin, but you will be responsible for his blood. ¹⁹However, if you have warned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he will die in his sin; but you have ^[a]freed yourself [from responsibility]. ²⁰Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness (right standing with God) and sins, and I place an obstacle before him, he will die; since you have not warned him, he will die in his sin, and the righteous deeds which he has done will not be remembered; but you will be responsible for his blood. ²¹However, if you have warned the righteous man not to sin and he does not sin, he will surely live because he took warning; also you have ^[b]freed yourself [from responsibility].”
