The Death of Gog and His Army
39 “Human being, prophesy against Gog and say: ‘This is what the Lord God says: I am against you, Gog, chief ruler of Meshech and Tubal. 2 I will turn you around and lead you. I will bring you from the far north. I will send you to attack the mountains of Israel. 3 I will knock your bow out of your left hand. I will throw down your arrows from your right hand. 4 You will fall dead on the mountains of Israel. You, all your troops and the nations with you will fall dead. I will let you be food for every bird that eats meat and every wild animal. 5 You will die in the country. I have spoken, says the Lord God. 6 I will send fire on Magog and those who live in safety on the coastlands. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
7 “‘And I will make myself known among my people Israel. I will not let myself be dishonored anymore. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord. They will know I am the Holy One in Israel. 8 It is coming! It will happen, says the Lord God. The day I talked about is coming.
9 “‘Then those who live in the cities of Israel will go out. They will make fires with the enemy’s weapons and burn them. They will burn both large and small shields. They will burn bows and arrows, war clubs and spears. They will use the weapons to burn in their fires for seven years. 10 They won’t need to take wood from the field or chop firewood from the forests. This is because they will make fires with the weapons. They will take the valuable things of those who took their valuable things. They will grab the things of those who grabbed their things, says the Lord God.
11 “‘On that day I will give Gog a place to be buried in Israel. It will be the Valley of the Travelers, east of the Dead Sea. It will block the road for travelers. This is because Gog and all his army will be buried there. People will call it The Valley of Gog’s Army.
12 “‘The people of Israel will be burying them for seven months to make the land clean again. 13 All the people of the land will bury them. The people of Israel will be honored on the day of my victory, says the Lord God.
14 “‘They will choose men to work through the land to make it clean. With others they will bury Gog’s soldiers still lying dead on the ground. After the seven months are finished, they will still search. 15 They will go through the land. If one person sees a human bone, he will put a marker by it. The sign will stay there until the gravediggers come. They will bury the bone in The Valley of Gog’s Army. 16 A city will be there named Hamonah. So they will make the land clean again.’
17 “Human being, this is what the Lord God says: Speak to every kind of bird and wild animal: ‘Come together, come! Come together from all around to my sacrifice. I will prepare it for you. It is a great sacrifice on the mountains of Israel. Then you can eat flesh and drink blood. 18 You will eat the flesh of mighty men. You will drink the blood of the rulers of the earth. You will do it as people eat all the fat animals from Bashan: male sheep, lambs, goats and bulls. 19 You will eat and drink from my sacrifice which I have made ready for you. So you will eat fat until you are full. You will drink blood until you are drunk. 20 At my table you will eat until you are full of horses and riders and all kinds of soldiers,’ says the Lord God.
21 “And I will show my greatness among the nations. All the nations will feel my power when I punish them. 22 From that day on the people of Israel will know that I am the Lord their God. 23 And the nations will know Israel was taken away captive because they turned against me. So I turned away from them. And I let their enemies defeat them. All of them died in war. 24 I punished them for their uncleanness and their sins. I turned away from them.
25 “So this is what the Lord God says: Now I will bring the people of Jacob back from captivity. I will have mercy on the whole nation of Israel. I will not let them dishonor me. 26 The people will forget their shame. And they will forget how they rejected me. They will live in safety on their own land. No one will make them afraid. 27 I will bring the people back from other lands. I will gather them from the lands of their enemies. That is how I will show that I am holy through my people. And many nations will see that I am holy. 28 Then my people will know that I am the Lord their God. This is because I sent them into captivity among the nations. But then I brought them back to their own land. And I didn’t leave any behind. 29 I will not turn away from them anymore. I will put my Spirit into the people of Israel, says the Lord God.”

New King James Version
Gog’s Armies Destroyed
39 “And (A)you, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, [a]the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal; 2 and I will (B)turn you around and lead you on, (C)bringing you up from the far north, and bring you against the mountains of Israel. 3 Then I will knock the bow out of your left hand, and cause the arrows to fall out of your right hand. 4 (D)You shall [b]fall upon the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and the peoples who are with you; (E)I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. 5 You shall [c]fall on [d]the open field; for I have spoken,” says the Lord God. 6 (F)“And I will send fire on Magog and on those who live [e]in security in (G)the coastlands. Then they shall know that I am the Lord. 7 (H)So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them (I)profane My holy name anymore. (J)Then the nations shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel. 8 (K)Surely it is coming, and it shall be done,” says the Lord God. “This is the day (L)of which I have spoken.
9 “Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and bucklers, the bows and arrows, the [f]javelins and spears; and they will make fires with them for seven years. 10 They will not take wood from the field nor cut down any from the forests, because they will make fires with the weapons; (M)and they will plunder those who plundered them, and pillage those who pillaged them,” says the Lord God.
The Burial of Gog
11 “It will come to pass in that day that I will give Gog a burial place there in Israel, the valley of those who pass by east of the sea; and it will obstruct travelers, because there they will bury Gog and all his multitude. Therefore they will call it the Valley of [g]Hamon Gog. 12 For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, (N)in order to cleanse the land. 13 Indeed all the people of the land will be burying, and they will gain (O)renown for it on the day that (P)I am glorified,” says the Lord God. 14 “They will set apart men regularly employed, with the help of [h]a search party, to pass through the land and bury those bodies remaining on the ground, in order (Q)to cleanse it. At the end of seven months they will make a search. 15 The search party will pass through the land; and when anyone sees a man’s bone, he shall [i]set up a marker by it, till the buriers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon Gog. 16 The name of the city will also be [j]Hamonah. Thus they shall (R)cleanse the land.” ’
A Triumphant Festival
17 “And as for you, son of man, thus says the Lord God, (S)‘Speak to every sort of bird and to every beast of the field:
(T)“Assemble yourselves and come;
Gather together from all sides to My (U)sacrificial meal
Which I am sacrificing for you,
A great sacrificial meal (V)on the mountains of Israel,
That you may eat flesh and drink blood.
18 (W)You shall eat the flesh of the mighty,
Drink the blood of the princes of the earth,
Of rams and lambs,
Of goats and bulls,
All of them (X)fatlings of Bashan.
19 You shall eat fat till you are full,
And drink blood till you are drunk,
At My sacrificial meal
Which I am sacrificing for you.
20 (Y)You shall be filled at My table
With horses and riders,
(Z)With mighty men
And with all the men of war,” says the Lord God.
Israel Restored to the Land
21 (AA)“I will set My glory among the nations; all the nations shall see My judgment which I have executed, and (AB)My hand which I have laid on them. 22 (AC)So the house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God from that day forward. 23 (AD)The Gentiles shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity; because they were unfaithful to Me, therefore (AE)I hid My face from them. I (AF)gave them into the hand of their enemies, and they all fell by the sword. 24 (AG)According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions I have dealt with them, and hidden My face from them.” ’
25 “Therefore thus says the Lord God: (AH)‘Now I will bring back the captives of Jacob, and have mercy on the (AI)whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for My holy name— 26 (AJ)after they have borne their shame, and all their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, when they (AK)dwelt safely in their own land and no one made them afraid. 27 (AL)When I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and I (AM)am hallowed in them in the sight of many nations, 28 (AN)then they shall know that I am the Lord their God, who sent them into captivity among the nations, but also brought them back to their land, and left none of them [k]captive any longer. 29 (AO)And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I shall have (AP)poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,’ says the Lord God.”

English Standard Version
39 “And you, (A)son of man, (B)prophesy against (C)Gog and say, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, (D)I am against you, O Gog, (E)chief prince of (F)Meshech[a] and (G)Tubal. 2 (H)And I will turn you about and drive you forward,[b] and bring you up from (I)the uttermost parts of the north, and lead you against the (J)mountains of Israel. 3 Then (K)I will strike your bow from your left hand, and (L)will make your arrows drop out of your right hand. 4 (M)You shall fall on (N)the mountains of Israel, you and all your (O)hordes and the peoples who are with you. (P)I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. 5 You shall fall in the open field, for (Q)I have spoken, declares the Lord God. 6 (R)I will send fire on (S)Magog and on those (T)who dwell securely in (U)the coastlands, and (V)they shall know that I am the Lord.
7 “And (W)my holy name I will make known in the midst of my people Israel, and (X)I will not let my holy name be profaned anymore. And (Y)the nations shall know that I am (Z)the Lord, the Holy One in Israel. 8 (AA)Behold, it is coming and it will be brought about, declares the Lord God. That is the day (AB)of which I have spoken.
9 “Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and (AC)make fires of the weapons and burn them, shields and bucklers, bow and arrows, (AD)clubs[c] and spears; and they will make fires of them for seven years, 10 so that they will not need to take wood out of the field or cut down any out of the forests, for (AE)they will make their fires of the weapons. (AF)They will seize the spoil of those who despoiled them, and plunder those who plundered them, declares the Lord God.
11 “On that day I will give to (AG)Gog a place for burial in Israel, the Valley of the Travelers, east of the sea. It will block the travelers, for there Gog and all his multitude will be buried. It will be called the Valley of (AH)Hamon-gog.[d] 12 For (AI)seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order (AJ)to cleanse the land. 13 All the people of the land will bury them, and it will bring them renown on the day that (AK)I show my glory, declares the Lord God. 14 They will set apart men to travel through the land regularly and bury those travelers remaining on the face of the land, so as (AL)to cleanse it. At[e] the end of (AM)seven months they will make their search. 15 And when these travel through the land and anyone sees a human bone, then he shall set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the Valley of (AN)Hamon-gog. 16 (Hamonah[f] is also the name of the city.) Thus shall they cleanse the land.
17 “As for you, (AO)son of man, thus says the Lord God: (AP)Speak to (AQ)the birds of every sort and to (AR)all beasts of the field: ‘Assemble and come, gather from all around to (AS)the sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you, a great sacrificial feast on the mountains of Israel, and you shall eat flesh and drink blood. 18 (AT)You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth—of rams, of lambs, and of he-goats, of bulls, all of them (AU)fat beasts of Bashan. 19 And you shall eat fat till you are filled, and drink blood till you are drunk, at the sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you. 20 And you shall be filled at my table with horses and charioteers, with mighty men and all kinds of warriors,’ declares the Lord God.
21 “And (AV)I will set my glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see (AW)my judgment that I have executed, and (AX)my hand that I have laid on them. 22 (AY)The house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God, from that day forward. 23 And (AZ)the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they dealt so treacherously with me that (BA)I hid my face from them and (BB)gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword. 24 I dealt with them (BC)according to their uncleanness and their transgressions, and hid my face from them.
The Lord Will Restore Israel
25 “Therefore thus says the Lord God: Now (BD)I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on (BE)the whole house of Israel, and (BF)I will be jealous for my holy name. 26 They shall (BG)forget their shame and all the treachery they have practiced against me, when (BH)they dwell securely in their land with (BI)none to make them afraid, 27 (BJ)when I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them from their enemies' lands, (BK)and through them have vindicated my holiness in the sight of many nations. 28 (BL)Then they shall know that I am the Lord their God, because I sent them into exile among the nations and then assembled them into their own land. I will leave none of them remaining among the nations anymore. 29 (BM)And I will not hide my face anymore from them, when (BN)I pour out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, declares the Lord God.”
