8 Then they will know that I am the Lord,
when I set fire(A) to Egypt
and all her helpers are crushed.(B)
9 “‘On that day messengers will go out from me in ships to frighten Cush(C) out of her complacency. Anguish(D) will take hold of them on the day of Egypt’s doom, for it is sure to come.(E)
10 “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:

When I have set a fire in Egypt
And all her helpers are destroyed.
9 On that day (A)messengers shall go forth from Me in ships
To make the [a]careless Ethiopians afraid,
And great anguish shall come upon them,
As on the day of Egypt;
For indeed it is coming!”
10 ‘Thus says the Lord God:
(B)“I will also make a multitude of Egypt to cease
By the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
