17 Now in the (A)twenty-seventh year, in the first month, on the first of the month, the word of Yahweh came to me saying, 18 “Son of man, (B)Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made his military force [a]labor hard against Tyre; every head was made (C)bald, and every shoulder was rubbed bare. But he and his military force had no wages from Tyre for the [b]labor that he had [c]labored against it.” 19 Therefore thus says Lord Yahweh, “Behold, I (D)will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. And he will carry off her [d](E)abundance and capture her spoil and seize her plunder; and it will be wages for his military force. 20 I have given him the land of Egypt for his work which he [e](F)labored because they acted for Me,” declares Lord Yahweh.

21 “On that day I will make a (G)horn sprout for the house of Israel, and I will [f](H)open your mouth in their midst. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”

17 In the twenty-seventh year, on the first day of the first month, the Lord’s word came to me: 18 Human one, Babylon’s King Nebuchadrezzar made his army labor very hard against Tyre. Every head was scraped bald, and every shoulder was rubbed raw, yet he got nothing from Tyre for himself or for his army for any of his efforts against it. 19 So now the Lord God proclaims: I’m going to give the land of Egypt to Babylon’s King Nebuchadrezzar. He will carry off its wealth, he will plunder and loot it, and it will be the wages for his army. 20 I will give him the land of Egypt as payment for his laboring for me. This is what the Lord God says.

21 On that day I will give new strength[a] to the house of Israel, and I will open your mouth among them. Then they will know that I am the Lord.
