15 “Thus says the Lord God to Tyre: ‘Will the coastlands not (A)shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded cry, when slaughter is made in the midst of you? 16 Then all the (B)princes of the sea will (C)come down from their thrones, lay aside their robes, and take off their embroidered garments; they will clothe themselves with trembling; (D)they will sit on the ground, (E)tremble every moment, and (F)be astonished at you. 17 And they will take up a (G)lamentation for you, and say to you:

“How you have perished,

Yes, the coastlands by the sea are troubled at your departure.” ’

16 Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay away their robes and put off their embroidered garments. They shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit upon the ground, and shall tremble at every moment and be astonished at thee.

17 And they shall take up a lamentation for thee and say to thee: “‘How art thou destroyed, that wast inhabited by seafaring men, the renowned city, which wast strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, who cause their terror to be on all that haunt it!
