A Prophecy Against Ammon

25 The word of the Lord came again to me, saying: Son of man, set your face against the sons of Ammon and prophesy against them, and say to the sons of Ammon, Hear the word of the Lord God. Thus says the Lord God: Because you said, “Aha!” against My sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into captivity, therefore, I will deliver you to the men of the East for a possession, and they shall set their camps among you and make their dwellings among you. They shall eat your fruit and drink your milk. I will make Rabbah a meadow for camels, and the sons of Ammon a couching place for flocks. Thus you shall know that I am the Lord. For thus says the Lord God: Because you have clapped your hands and stamped your feet and rejoiced in heart with all your spite against the land of Israel, therefore, I will stretch out My hand against you and deliver you for destruction to the nations. And I will cut you off from the peoples and cause you to perish from the countries. I will destroy you. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.

Judgment upon Various Gentile Nations

25 And the word of Yahweh came[a] to me, saying,[b] “Son of man,[c] set your face toward the Ammonites[d] and prophesy against them, and you must say to the Ammonites,[e] ‘Hear the word of the Lord Yahweh! Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Because of your saying, ‘Ah!’ to my sanctuary when it was profaned, and to the land of Israel when it was[f] desolate, and to the house of Judah when they went into the exile, therefore look! I am giving you to the people[g] of the East as a possession, and they will set up their encampments in you, and they will make in you their dwelling places; they themselves[h] will eat your fruit and they themselves[i] will drink your milk. And I will make Rabbah as a pasture of camels and the Ammonites[j] as a haunt of flocks, and they will know that I am Yahweh.”’” For thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Because of clapping your hand and stamping with your foot, and because you rejoiced in[k] yourself with all of your malice over the land of Israel, therefore look! I stretched out my hand against you, and I will give you as plunder[l] to the nations, and I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will destroy you from the countries, and I will wipe you out, and you will know that I am Yahweh.”
