Ezekiel 21:5-10
English Standard Version
5 (A)And all flesh shall know that I am the Lord. I have drawn (B)my sword from its sheath; (C)it shall not be sheathed again.
6 “As for you, son of man, (D)groan; with breaking heart and bitter grief, (E)groan before their eyes. 7 (F)And when they say to you, ‘Why do you groan?’ you shall say, ‘Because of the news (G)that it is coming. (H)Every heart will melt, and (I)all hands will be feeble; every spirit will faint, and (J)all knees will be weak as water. (K)Behold, it is (L)coming, and it will be fulfilled,’” declares the Lord God.
8 And the word of the Lord came to me: 9 (M)“Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus says the Lord, say:
(N)“A sword, a sword is sharpened
and also polished,
10 (O)sharpened for slaughter,
(P)polished to flash like lightning!
(Or (Q)shall we rejoice? You have despised the rod, my son, (R)with everything of wood.)[a]
