²⁰ I will spread my net^(A) for him, and he will be caught in my snare. I will bring him to Babylon and execute judgment^(B) on him there because he was unfaithful^(C) to me.

¹³ I will spread my net^(A) for him, and he will be caught in my snare;^(B) I will bring him to Babylonia, the land of the Chaldeans,^(C) but he will not see^(D) it, and there he will die.^(E)

³ “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:

³⁵ I will bring you into the wilderness^(A) of the nations and there, face to face, I will execute judgment^(B) upon you. ³⁶ As I judged your ancestors in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will judge you, declares the Sovereign Lord.^(C)

²² I will execute judgment^(A) on him with plague and bloodshed;^(B) I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones^(C) and burning sulfur^(D) on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him.^(E)

⁵ But the Babylonian^[a] army pursued them and overtook Zedekiah^(A) in the plains of Jericho. They captured^(B) him and took him to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon at Riblah^(C) in the land of Hamath, where he pronounced sentence on him. ⁶ There at Riblah the king of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes and also killed all the nobles^(D) of Judah. ⁷ Then he put out Zedekiah’s eyes^(E) and bound him with bronze shackles to take him to Babylon.^(F)

³⁵ For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth.
