Ezekiel 12:17-20
New English Translation
17 The Lord’s message came to me: 18 “Son of man, eat your bread with trembling[a] and drink your water with anxious shaking. 19 Then say to the people of the land, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says about the inhabitants of Jerusalem and of the land of Israel: They will eat their bread with anxiety and drink their water in fright, for their land will be stripped bare of all it contains because of the violence of all who live in it. 20 The inhabited towns will be left in ruins, and the land will be devastated. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”

17 Moreover, the word of Yahweh came to me saying, 18 “Son of man, (A)you shall eat your bread with trembling and drink your water with quivering and anxiety. 19 Then you will say to the people of the land, ‘Thus says Lord Yahweh concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem in the land of Israel, “They will eat their bread with anxiety and drink their water with desolation because [a]their very soil will be (B)made desolate of its fullness on account of the violence of all who inhabit it. 20 The inhabited (C)cities will be laid waste, and the (D)land will be a desolation. So you will know that I am Yahweh.”’”
