²⁰ Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.^(A) They will be my people,^(B) and I will be their God.^(C)

¹¹ Then the people of Israel will no longer stray^(A) from me, nor will they defile themselves anymore with all their sins. They will be my people,^(B) and I will be their God, declares the Sovereign Lord.^(C)’”

¹¹ For the grace^(A) of God has appeared^(B) that offers salvation to all people.^{(C) 12} It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions,^(D) and to live self-controlled,^(E) upright and godly lives^(F) in this present age,

⁶ Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly.^(A)

¹⁶ Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one.^(A) Therefore God is not ashamed^(B) to be called their God,^(C) for he has prepared a city^(D) for them.
