On the fifth of the month—it was the fifth year of the exile of King Jehoiachin(A) the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel(B) the priest, the son of Buzi, by the Kebar River in the land of the Babylonians.[a] There the hand of the Lord was on him.(C)

I looked, and I saw a windstorm(D) coming out of the north(E)—an immense cloud with flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light. The center of the fire looked like glowing metal,(F)

The word of the Lord came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was there upon him.

And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
