Ezekiel 8:4-6
Contemporary English Version
4 (A) Then I saw the brightness of the glory of the God of Israel, just as I had seen it near the Chebar River.
5 God said to me, “Ezekiel, son of man, look north.” And when I did, I saw that repulsive idol by the altar near the gate.
6 God then said, “Do you see the terrible sins of the people of Israel? Their sins are making my holy temple unfit as a place to worship me. Yet you will see even worse things than this.”

Ezekiel 8:4-6
New International Version
4 And there before me was the glory(A) of the God of Israel, as in the vision I had seen in the plain.(B)
5 Then he said to me, “Son of man, look toward the north.” So I looked, and in the entrance north of the gate of the altar I saw this idol(C) of jealousy.
6 And he said to me, “Son of man, do you see what they are doing—the utterly detestable(D) things the Israelites are doing here, things that will drive me far from my sanctuary?(E) But you will see things that are even more detestable.”
