⁸ “‘But I will spare some, for some of you will escape^(A) the sword when you are scattered among the lands and nations.^{(B) 9} Then in the nations where they have been carried captive, those who escape will remember^(C) me—how I have been grieved^(D) by their adulterous hearts, which have turned away from me, and by their eyes, which have lusted after their idols.^(E) They will loathe themselves for the evil^(F) they have done and for all their detestable practices.^(G)

²² Yet there will be some survivors^(A)—sons and daughters who will be brought out of it.^(B) They will come to you, and when you see their conduct^(C) and their actions, you will be consoled^(D) regarding the disaster I have brought on Jerusalem—every disaster I have brought on it.
