12 Since they ministered to them (A)before their idols and became a (B)stumbling block of wrongdoing to the house of Israel, for that reason I have [a](C)sworn against them,” declares the Lord God, “that they shall (D)suffer the punishment for their wrongdoing. 13 And they shall (E)not approach Me to serve as priests for Me, nor approach any of My holy things, to the things that are most holy; but they will (F)bear their shame and their abominations which they have committed. 14 Nevertheless I will [b]appoint them [c]to (G)take responsibility for the house, of all its service and of everything that shall be done in it.

12 But because they served them in the presence of their idols and made the people of Israel fall(A) into sin, therefore I have sworn with uplifted hand(B) that they must bear the consequences of their sin, declares the Sovereign Lord.(C) 13 They are not to come near to serve me as priests or come near any of my holy things or my most holy offerings; they must bear the shame(D) of their detestable practices.(E) 14 And I will appoint them to guard the temple for all the work that is to be done in it.(F)
