18 And he said to me, “Son of man,[a] thus says the Lord Yahweh: ‘These are the statutes of the altar on the day when it is made,[b] to sacrifice a burnt offering on it and to sprinkle blood on it. 19 And you must give to the Levitical priests who are from the offspring of Zadok, the ones coming near me,” declares[c] the Lord Yahweh, “to serve me, a bull, a calf[d] as a sin offering.

20 You must take some of its blood and put it on the four horns of the altar,[e] and the four corners of the ledge, and on the rim all around; thus you must purify it and make atonement for it. 21 And you must take the bull, the sin offering, and you must burn it in the designated place of the temple outside of the holy place. 22 And on the second day you must offer a he-goat without defect as a sin offering, and they must purify the altar like[f] they purified with the bull. 23 When you are finished[g] from purifying, you must offer a bull, a calf,[h] without defect, and a ram from the flock without defect. 24 And you must bring them near before[i] Yahweh, and the priests must throw salt on them, and they must offer them as a burnt offering to Yahweh. 25 For seven days you must provide a goat of sin offering for the day and a bull, a calf,[j] and a ram from the flock without defect; you must provide them. 26 Seven days they must purify the altar and they must cleanse it and so they will consecrate it.[k] 27 And they will finish the days, and then[l] on the eighth day and beyond that the priests will offer on the altar your burnt offerings and your fellowship offerings, and then I will be pleased with you,” declares[m] the Lord Yahweh.

18 He said to me, “Son of man, the Lord Yahweh says: ‘These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they make it, to offer burnt offerings on it, and to sprinkle blood on it. 19 You shall give to the Levitical priests who are of the offspring of Zadok, who are near to me, to minister to me,’ says the Lord Yahweh, ‘a young bull for a sin offering. 20 You shall take of its blood, and put it on its four horns, and on the four corners of the ledge, and on the border all around. You shall cleanse it and make atonement for it that way. 21 You shall also take the bull of the sin offering, and it shall be burned in the appointed place of the house, outside of the sanctuary.

22 “On the second day you shall offer a male goat without defect for a sin offering; and they shall cleanse the altar, as they cleansed it with the bull. 23 When you have finished cleansing it, you shall offer a young bull without defect, and a ram out of the flock without defect. 24 You shall bring them near to Yahweh, and the priests shall cast salt on them, and they shall offer them up for a burnt offering to Yahweh.

25 “Seven days you shall prepare every day a goat for a sin offering. They shall also prepare a young bull, and a ram out of the flock, without defect. 26 Seven days shall they make atonement for the altar and purify it. So shall they consecrate it. 27 When they have accomplished the days, it shall be that on the eighth day, and forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings on the altar, and your peace offerings. Then I will accept you,’ says the Lord Yahweh.”

18 Then he said to me, “Son of man, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: These will be the regulations for sacrificing burnt offerings(A) and splashing blood(B) against the altar when it is built: 19 You are to give a young bull(C) as a sin offering[a] to the Levitical priests of the family of Zadok,(D) who come near(E) to minister before me, declares the Sovereign Lord. 20 You are to take some of its blood and put it on the four horns of the altar(F) and on the four corners of the upper ledge(G) and all around the rim, and so purify the altar(H) and make atonement for it. 21 You are to take the bull for the sin offering and burn it in the designated part of the temple area outside the sanctuary.(I)

22 “On the second day you are to offer a male goat without defect for a sin offering, and the altar is to be purified as it was purified with the bull. 23 When you have finished purifying it, you are to offer a young bull and a ram from the flock, both without defect.(J) 24 You are to offer them before the Lord, and the priests are to sprinkle salt(K) on them and sacrifice them as a burnt offering to the Lord.

25 “For seven days(L) you are to provide a male goat daily for a sin offering; you are also to provide a young bull and a ram from the flock, both without defect.(M) 26 For seven days they are to make atonement for the altar and cleanse it; thus they will dedicate it. 27 At the end of these days, from the eighth day(N) on, the priests are to present your burnt offerings(O) and fellowship offerings(P) on the altar. Then I will accept you, declares the Sovereign Lord.”
