The Nave
41 Then he (A)brought me to the [a](B)nave and measured the (C)side pillars; [b]six cubits wide on each side was the width of the [c]side pillar. 2 The width of the entrance was ten cubits, and the [d]sides of the entrance were five cubits on each side. And he measured [e]the length of the nave, [f](D)forty cubits, and the width, (E)twenty cubits.
The Holy of Holies
3 Then he went [g](F)inside and measured each (G)side pillar of the doorway, two cubits, and the doorway, six cubits high; and the width of the doorway, seven cubits. 4 He measured its length, (H)twenty cubits, and the width, twenty cubits, before the (I)nave; and he said to me, “This is the (J)Holy of Holies.”
The Wall, Side Chambers, and West Building
5 Then he measured the wall of the house of Yahweh, six cubits; and the width of the (K)side chambers, four cubits, all around about the house on every side. 6 (L)The side chambers were in three stories, [h]one above another, and [i]thirty in each story; and [j]the side chambers (M)extended to the wall which stood on [k]their inward side all around, that they might be fastened, and not be fastened into the wall of the house itself. 7 The side chambers surrounding the house were wider at each successive story. Because the (N)structure surrounding the house went upward by stages on all sides of the house, therefore the width of the house increased as it went higher; and thus one went up from the lowest story to the highest by way of the [l]second story. 8 I saw also that the house had a raised [m]platform all around; the foundations of the side chambers were a full rod of [n](O)six [o]long cubits in height. 9 The [p]thickness of the outer wall of the side chambers was five cubits. But the (P)free space between the side chambers belonging to the house 10 and the outer (Q)chambers was twenty cubits in width all around the house on every side. 11 The [q]doorways of the [r]side chambers toward the (R)free space consisted of one doorway toward the north and another doorway toward the south; and the width of the place of the (S)free space was five cubits all around.
12 The (T)building that was in front of the (U)separate area at the side toward the west was [s]seventy cubits wide; and the wall of the building was five cubits [t]thick all around, and its length was [u]ninety cubits.
The Measurements of the Building
13 Then he measured the house, [v]one (V)hundred cubits long; the (W)separate area with the (X)building and its walls were also one (Y)hundred cubits long. 14 Also the width of the front of the house and that of the separate [w]areas along the east side totaled one hundred cubits.
15 He measured the length of the (Z)building [x]along the front of the (AA)separate area behind it, with a [y](AB)gallery on each side, one hundred cubits, along with the inner nave and the porches of the court.
Carvings and Furnishings
16 The (AC)thresholds, the [z](AD)latticed windows, and the [aa](AE)galleries round about their (AF)three stories, opposite the threshold, were (AG)paneled with wood all around, and from the ground to the windows (but the windows were covered), 17 over the entrance, and to the inner house, and on the outside, and on all the wall all around inside and outside, by measurement. 18 It was [ab]carved with (AH)cherubim and (AI)palm trees; and a palm tree was between cherub and cherub, and every cherub had two faces, 19 a (AJ)man’s face toward the palm tree on one side and a young (AK)lion’s face toward the palm tree on the other side; they were [ac]carved on all the house all around. 20 From the ground to above the entrance (AL)cherubim and (AM)palm trees were [ad]carved, as well as on the wall of the nave.
21 The (AN)doorposts of the (AO)nave were square; as for the front of the sanctuary, the appearance of one doorpost was like that of the other. 22 The (AP)altar was of wood, three cubits high and its length two cubits; its corners, its [ae]base, and its [af]sides were of wood. And he said to me, “This is the (AQ)table that is before Yahweh.” 23 The (AR)nave and the (AS)sanctuary each had a double (AT)door. 24 Each of the doors had two leaves, two [ag](AU)swinging leaves; two leaves for one door and two leaves for the other. 25 Also there were [ah]carved on them, on the doors of the nave, (AV)cherubim and (AW)palm trees like those [ai]carved on the walls; and there was a (AX)canopy of wood over the front of the porch outside. 26 There were [aj](AY)latticed windows and (AZ)palm trees on one side and on the other, on the sides of the (BA)porch; thus were the (BB)side chambers of the house and the canopies.

41 He brought me to the main hall, and he measured the arches. They were nine feet deep on both sides, so that was also the depth of the tent. 2 The entrance was fifteen feet wide, and the facades on either side of the entrance were seven and a half feet. When he measured its length, it was sixty feet, and its width was thirty feet. 3 Then he went into the inner room, and he measured the arches on both sides of the entrance; they were each three feet. The entrance was nine feet wide, and its depth was ten and a half feet. 4 When he measured the length of the inner room, it was thirty feet, and the width of the side adjoining the main hall was also thirty feet. He said to me, “This is the most holy place.”
5 When he measured the wall of the temple, it was nine feet, and the side chambers that went all the way around the temple were six feet. 6 Now these side chambers adjoined each other, thirty chambers in three stories. The side chambers had a ledge in the temple wall all the way around to serve as supports, but these supports were not inserted into the temple wall itself. 7 A wide ramp ascended stage by stage to the side chambers all the way around the temple. In this way, the ascent stage by stage all around the temple added to the temple’s width. One ascended from the foundation to the top by way of the middle story. 8 Then I looked at the temple: Its roof all around rested on the side chambers. Each raised section was ten and a half feet, and the indentations between them were nine feet.[a] 9 The width of the outer wall of the side chambers was seven and a half feet. The space left free between the temple’s side chambers and 10 the other chambers was thirty feet wide all the way around the temple. 11 There were two entrances from the side chambers to the free space, one facing north, the other facing south. And the width of the place that was left free was seven and a half feet all the way around. 12 The structure facing the yard on the west was one hundred five feet wide. The structure’s wall was seven and a half feet wide all the way around, and its length was one hundred thirty-five feet.
13 Then he measured the temple. It was one hundred fifty feet long. The yard, the structure, and its walls were also one hundred fifty feet. 14 The area in front of the house and the yard to the east was one hundred fifty feet also. 15 Then he measured the length of the structure along the side of the yard, including its promenades on both sides: one hundred fifty feet.
Now the interior of the main hall as well as the porches in the courtyard 16 were paneled all around, including the ceilings,[b] closed windows, and its three courses of promenades that adjoined the ceiling. From the ground up to the windows was covered. 17 Above the entrance, from the interior to the exterior of the temple, and on every interior and exterior wall, 18 there were carved winged creatures and palm trees. The palm trees were positioned between the winged creatures, and each winged creature had two faces. 19 A human face turned toward one palm tree, and the face of a lion turned toward another. They were carved on the temple all the way around. 20 From the ground to above the entrance, the walls of the main hall were carved with winged creatures and palm trees. 21 In the main hall itself, there were square doorposts in front of the holy place, where there was the appearance of 22 the altar. It was four and a half feet high and three feet wide. It was made of wood, and its corners, base, and sides were also wood. He said to me, “This is the table that stands before the Lord.”
23 The main hall and the holy place each had two doors, 24 and each door had two turning panels, two for one door and two for the other. 25 Like the walls, the doors of the main hall were carved with winged creatures and palm trees. A single luxuriant[c] tree stood outside, in front of the porch, 26 while closed windows and palm trees decorated both sides of the facade of the porch, the temple’s side chambers, and the beams.
