15 Then he measured the width of the building facing the yard at the west, together with its galleries[a] on either side, one hundred cubits.

The nave of the temple’s interior and the outer[b] vestibule(A) 16 were paneled,[c] and all around all three had windows with recessed[d] frames. Facing the threshold, the temple was paneled with wood all around, from the floor up to the windows (now the windows were covered).(B) 17 On the space above the door, even to the inner room, and on the outside and on all the walls all around in the inner room and the nave there was a pattern.[e] 18 It was formed of cherubim and palm trees, a palm tree between cherub and cherub. Each cherub had two faces:(C) 19 a human face turned toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion turned toward the palm tree on the other side. They were carved on the whole temple all around;(D) 20 from the floor to the area above the door, cherubim and palm trees were carved on the wall.[f]

21 The doorposts of the nave were square. In front of the holy place was something resembling(E) 22 an altar of wood, three cubits high, two cubits long, and two cubits wide;[g] its corners, its base,[h] and its walls were of wood. He said to me, “This is the table that stands before the Lord.”(F) 23 The nave and the holy place had each a double door.(G) 24 The doors had two leaves apiece, two swinging leaves for each door. 25 On the doors of the nave were carved cherubim and palm trees, such as were carved on the walls, and there was a canopy of wood in front of the vestibule outside. 26 And there were recessed windows and palm trees on either side, on the sidewalls of the vestibule.[i](H)

15 Next, he measured 100 cubits[a] as the length of the structure toward the front of the courtyard that stood behind it, where it housed a gallery on each side of it. Then he measured the Temple and the inner porticos[b] of the courtyard, 16 the thresholds, the shielded[c] windows, and the surrounding three-storied galleries that stood opposite. From the ground to the shielded[d] windows, they were paneled with wood all around, 17 including up to the doorway, up to the Temple (both within and without) and all around both sides of the inner wall, according to his measurement. 18 There were carved cherubim and palm trees, alternating with a palm tree between a cherub, and each cherub had two faces, 19 with a human face looking[e] toward the palm tree on one side and a young lion’s face looking[f] toward the palm tree on the other side. These carvings extended all the way around the Temple, 20 from the ground to above the doorway, as well as on the walls of the main sanctuary.

21 The door posts of the main sanctuary were square. Each door post was identical in appearance to the others. 22 The altar was made of wood, three cubits[g] high and two cubits[h] long. Its corners, base, and sides were of wood. He told me, “This table stands in the Lord’s presence.”

23 The nave and the sanctuary each were equipped with double doors. 24 Each door had two sections mounted on hinges,[i] for a total of two sections for one door and two sections for the other. 25 The doors of the nave had carvings engraved on them, consisting of cherubim and palm trees identical to those on the walls. The front of the exterior porch was equipped with a wooden threshold. 26 Shielded windows and palm trees were visible[j] on both sides; that is, on the sides of the porch, the side chambers of the Temple, and on its thresholds.

15 Then he measured the length of the building facing the courtyard at the rear of the temple, including its galleries(A) on each side; it was a hundred cubits.

The main hall, the inner sanctuary and the portico facing the court, 16 as well as the thresholds and the narrow windows(B) and galleries around the three of them—everything beyond and including the threshold was covered with wood. The floor, the wall up to the windows, and the windows were covered.(C) 17 In the space above the outside of the entrance to the inner sanctuary and on the walls at regular intervals all around the inner and outer sanctuary 18 were carved(D) cherubim(E) and palm trees.(F) Palm trees alternated with cherubim. Each cherub had two faces:(G) 19 the face of a human being toward the palm tree on one side and the face of a lion toward the palm tree on the other. They were carved all around the whole temple.(H) 20 From the floor to the area above the entrance, cherubim and palm trees were carved on the wall of the main hall.

21 The main hall(I) had a rectangular doorframe, and the one at the front of the Most Holy Place was similar. 22 There was a wooden altar(J) three cubits[a] high and two cubits square[b]; its corners, its base[c] and its sides were of wood. The man said to me, “This is the table(K) that is before the Lord.” 23 Both the main hall(L) and the Most Holy Place had double doors.(M) 24 Each door had two leaves—two hinged leaves(N) for each door. 25 And on the doors of the main hall were carved cherubim and palm trees like those carved on the walls, and there was a wooden overhang on the front of the portico. 26 On the sidewalls of the portico were narrow windows with palm trees carved on each side. The side rooms of the temple also had overhangs.(O)
