15 Next he measured the length of the building facing the temple yard to the west, with its galleries[a] on each side;(A) it was 175 feet.

Interior Wooden Structures

The interior of the great hall and the porticoes of the court— 16 the thresholds, the beveled windows,(B) and the balconies all around with their three levels opposite the threshold—were overlaid with wood on all sides.(C) They were paneled from the ground to the windows (but the windows were covered), 17 reaching to the top of the entrance, and as far as the inner temple and on the outside. On every wall all around, on the inside and outside, was a pattern 18 carved with cherubim and palm trees.(D) There was a palm tree between each pair of cherubim.(E) Each cherub had two faces: 19 a human face turned toward the palm tree on one side,(F) and a lion’s face turned toward it on the other. They were carved throughout the temple on all sides. 20 Cherubim and palm trees were carved from the ground to the top of the entrance and on the wall of the great hall.

21 The doorposts of the great hall were square,(G) and the front of the sanctuary had the same appearance. 22 The altar was[b] made of wood, 5¼ feet[c] high and 3½ feet long.[d] It had corners, and its length[e] and sides were of wood.(H) The man told me, “This is the table that stands before the Lord.”(I)

23 The great hall and the sanctuary each had a double door,(J) 24 and each of the doors had two swinging panels.(K) There were two panels for one door and two for the other. 25 Cherubim and palm trees were carved on the doors of the great hall like those carved on the walls. There was a wooden canopy[f](L) outside, in front of the portico. 26 There were beveled windows and palm trees on both sides,(M) on the side walls of the portico, the side rooms of the temple, and the canopies.[g]

15 Next, he measured 100 cubits[a] as the length of the structure toward the front of the courtyard that stood behind it, where it housed a gallery on each side of it. Then he measured the Temple and the inner porticos[b] of the courtyard, 16 the thresholds, the shielded[c] windows, and the surrounding three-storied galleries that stood opposite. From the ground to the shielded[d] windows, they were paneled with wood all around, 17 including up to the doorway, up to the Temple (both within and without) and all around both sides of the inner wall, according to his measurement. 18 There were carved cherubim and palm trees, alternating with a palm tree between a cherub, and each cherub had two faces, 19 with a human face looking[e] toward the palm tree on one side and a young lion’s face looking[f] toward the palm tree on the other side. These carvings extended all the way around the Temple, 20 from the ground to above the doorway, as well as on the walls of the main sanctuary.

21 The door posts of the main sanctuary were square. Each door post was identical in appearance to the others. 22 The altar was made of wood, three cubits[g] high and two cubits[h] long. Its corners, base, and sides were of wood. He told me, “This table stands in the Lord’s presence.”

23 The nave and the sanctuary each were equipped with double doors. 24 Each door had two sections mounted on hinges,[i] for a total of two sections for one door and two sections for the other. 25 The doors of the nave had carvings engraved on them, consisting of cherubim and palm trees identical to those on the walls. The front of the exterior porch was equipped with a wooden threshold. 26 Shielded windows and palm trees were visible[j] on both sides; that is, on the sides of the porch, the side chambers of the Temple, and on its thresholds.

15 Then he measured the length of the building facing the courtyard at the rear of the temple, including its galleries(A) on each side; it was a hundred cubits.

The main hall, the inner sanctuary and the portico facing the court, 16 as well as the thresholds and the narrow windows(B) and galleries around the three of them—everything beyond and including the threshold was covered with wood. The floor, the wall up to the windows, and the windows were covered.(C) 17 In the space above the outside of the entrance to the inner sanctuary and on the walls at regular intervals all around the inner and outer sanctuary 18 were carved(D) cherubim(E) and palm trees.(F) Palm trees alternated with cherubim. Each cherub had two faces:(G) 19 the face of a human being toward the palm tree on one side and the face of a lion toward the palm tree on the other. They were carved all around the whole temple.(H) 20 From the floor to the area above the entrance, cherubim and palm trees were carved on the wall of the main hall.

21 The main hall(I) had a rectangular doorframe, and the one at the front of the Most Holy Place was similar. 22 There was a wooden altar(J) three cubits[a] high and two cubits square[b]; its corners, its base[c] and its sides were of wood. The man said to me, “This is the table(K) that is before the Lord.” 23 Both the main hall(L) and the Most Holy Place had double doors.(M) 24 Each door had two leaves—two hinged leaves(N) for each door. 25 And on the doors of the main hall were carved cherubim and palm trees like those carved on the walls, and there was a wooden overhang on the front of the portico. 26 On the sidewalls of the portico were narrow windows with palm trees carved on each side. The side rooms of the temple also had overhangs.(O)
