GOD’S WORD Translation
8 After a long time you will be called to service. In the years to come, you will attack a land that has been rebuilt after a war. Its people have been gathered from many nations and brought to the mountains of Israel, mountains that have been ruined for a long time. These people were brought there from the nations, and all of them live there safely. 9 You will attack like a storm and cover the land like a cloud. Your troops and the many armies will be with you.
10 “ ‘This is what the Almighty Lord says: At that time ideas will enter your head, and you will make wicked plans.

8 After many days(A) you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations(B) to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety.(C) 9 You and all your troops and the many nations with you will go up, advancing like a storm;(D) you will be like a cloud(E) covering the land.(F)
10 “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: On that day thoughts will come into your mind(G) and you will devise an evil scheme.(H)
