17 “The young men of [a](A)On and of Pi-beseth
Will fall by the sword,
And [b]the women will go into captivity.
18 “In (B)Tehaphnehes the day will [c]be (C)dark
When I (D)break there the yoke bars of Egypt.
Then the pride of her power will cease in her;
A cloud will cover her,
And her daughters will go into captivity.
19 “Thus I will (E)execute judgments on Egypt,
And they will know that I am the Lord.”’”

and the cities themselves will go into captivity.
18 Dark will be the day at Tahpanhes(B)
when I break the yoke of Egypt;(C)
there her proud strength will come to an end.
She will be covered with clouds,
and her villages will go into captivity.(D)
19 So I will inflict punishment(E) on Egypt,
and they will know that I am the Lord.’”
