2 And He said unto me, “Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.”

² And the Spirit entered into me when He spoke unto me, and set me upon my feet, so that I heard Him who spoke unto me.

³ And He said unto me, “Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against Me. They and their fathers have transgressed against Me, even unto this very day;

⁴ for they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, ‘Thus saith the Lord God.’

⁵ And they, whether they will hear or whether they will forbear (for they are a rebellious house), yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.

⁶ “And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee and thou dost dwell among scorpions. Be not afraid of their words nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

⁷ And thou shalt speak My words unto them, whether they will hear or whether they will forbear, for they are most rebellious.

⁸ But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee. Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house. Open thy mouth, and eat what I give thee.”

⁹ And when I looked, behold, a hand was sent unto me; and lo, a scroll of a book was therein.

¹⁰ And He spread it before me; and it was written within and without, and there were written therein lamentations and mourning and woe.

¹⁹ Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in their midst and said unto them, “Peace be unto you.”

²⁰ And when He had so said, He showed unto them His hands and His side. Then were the disciples glad when they saw the Lord.

²¹ Then said Jesus to them again, “Peace be unto you. As My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you.”

²² And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said unto them, “Receive ye the Holy Ghost.

²³ Whosoever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whosoever sins ye retain, they are retained.”

²⁴ But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.

²⁵ The other disciples therefore said unto him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said unto them, “Unless I shall see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into His side, I will not believe.”

²⁶ And after eight days the disciples were again within, and Thomas was with them. Then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be unto you.”

²⁷ Then said He to Thomas, “Reach hither thy finger and behold My hands, and reach hither thy hand and thrust it into My side: and be not faithless, but believing.”

²⁸ And Thomas answered and said unto Him, “My Lord and my God!”

²⁹ Jesus said unto him, “Thomas, because thou hast seen Me, thou hast believed. Blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed.”
