Ezekiel 24:2-4
GOD’S WORD Translation

2 “Son of man, write down today’s date. The king of Babylon has surrounded Jerusalem this very day. 3 Tell these rebellious people a story. Tell them, ‘This is what the Almighty Lord says:

Put the pot on the fire; put it on.
Pour water in it.
4 Cut the meat into pieces,
all the best pieces, the thigh and shoulder.
Fill the pot with the meatiest bones

2 “Son of man, record(A) this date, this very date, because the king of Babylon has laid siege to Jerusalem this very day.(B) 3 Tell this rebellious people(C) a parable(D) and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“‘Put on the cooking pot;(E) put it on
    and pour water into it.
4 Put into it the pieces of meat,
    all the choice pieces—the leg and the shoulder.
Fill it with the best of these bones;(F)
