8 And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house with ^(A)the elders of Judah sitting before me, that ^(B)the hand of the Lord God fell upon me there.

The Rebellions of Israel

20 It came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, on the tenth day of the month, that ^(A)certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the Lord, and sat before me.

³¹ So ^(A)they come to you as people do, they ^(B)sit before you as My people, and they ^(C)hear your words, but they do not do them; ^(D)for with their mouth they show much love, but ^(E)their hearts pursue their own gain.

Idolatry Will Be Punished

14 Now ^(A)some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat before me.

² On the fifth day of the month, which was in the fifth year of King Jehoiachin’s captivity, ³ the word of the Lord came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the ^[a]Chaldeans by the River Chebar; and ^(A)the hand of the Lord was upon him there.

⁴ “Therefore speak to them, and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Everyone of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, and puts before him what causes him to stumble into iniquity, and then comes to the prophet, I the Lord will answer him who comes, according to the multitude of his idols,

³³ I have coveted no one’s silver or gold or apparel.

A New City, a New Temple

40 In the twenty-fifth year of our captivity, at the beginning of the year, on the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after ^(A)the city was ^[a]captured, on the very same day ^(B)the hand of the Lord was upon me; and He took me there.

The Dry Bones Live

37 The ^(A)hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out ^(B)in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones.
