²⁹ But ^(A)this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none, ³⁰ those who weep as though they did not weep, those who rejoice as though they did not rejoice, those who buy as though they did not possess, ³¹ and those who use this world as not ^(B)misusing it. For ^(C)the form of this world is passing away.

⁸ You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord ^[a]is at hand.

⁹ Do not ^[b]grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be ^[c]condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door!

⁵ “Thus says the Lord God:

¹¹ ‘Thus says the Lord God: ^(A)“Pound^[a] your fists and stamp your feet, and say, ‘Alas, for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel! ^(B)For they shall fall by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence. ¹² He who is far off shall die by the pestilence, he who is near shall fall by the sword, and he who remains and is besieged shall die by the famine. ^(C)Thus will I spend My fury upon them.

⁷ ‘Behold, Hanamel the son of Shallum your uncle will come to you, saying, “Buy my field which is in Anathoth, for the ^(A)right of redemption is yours to buy it.” ’ ⁸ Then Hanamel my uncle’s son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the Lord, and said to me, ‘Please buy my field that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin; for the right of inheritance is yours, and the redemption yours; buy it for yourself.’ Then I knew that this was the word of the Lord.
