³ But take a few hairs and tuck them away in the folds of your garment.^(A)

¹⁶ But Nebuzaradan left behind^(A) the rest of the poorest people of the land to work the vineyards and fields.

⁶ So Jeremiah went to Gedaliah son of Ahikam at Mizpah^(A) and stayed with him among the people who were left behind in the land.

¹⁰ But Nebuzaradan the commander of the guard left behind in the land of Judah some of the poor people, who owned nothing; and at that time he gave them vineyards and fields.

¹⁸ And,

²³ Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”

He said to them, ²⁴ “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door,^(A) because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

¹⁴ But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

¹² But the commander left behind some of the poorest people^(A) of the land to work the vineyards and fields.
