³ And when ^(A)the man went out to the east with the line in his hand, he measured one thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the water came up to my ankles.

³ He took me there, and behold, there was a man whose appearance was ^(A)like the appearance of bronze. ^(B)He had a line of flax ^(C)and a measuring rod in his hand, and he stood in the gateway.

¹⁵ And he who talked with me ^(A)had a gold reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.

The Two Witnesses

11 Then I was given ^(A)a reed like a measuring rod. ^[a]And the angel stood, saying, ^(B)“Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there.

¹⁶ Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ^(A)‘John indeed baptized with water, but ^(B)you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ ^17 (C)If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, ^(D)who was I that I could withstand God?”

¹⁸ When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, ^(E)“Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.”

^45 (A)And ^[a]those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, ^(B)because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. ⁴⁶ For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.

Then Peter answered,

³³ Therefore ^(A)being exalted ^[a]to ^(B)the right hand of God, and ^(C)having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He ^(D)poured out this which you now see and hear.

⁴ And ^(A)they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began ^(B)to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

^49 (A)Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city ^[a]of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”
