Division of the Land

¹³ Thus says the Lord God: “This is the boundary^[a] by which ^(A)you shall divide the land for inheritance among the twelve tribes of Israel. ^(B)Joseph shall have two portions.

⁴ Adjoining the territory of Naphtali, from the east side to the west, Manasseh, one portion. ⁵ Adjoining the territory of Manasseh, from the east side to the west, Ephraim, one portion. ⁶ Adjoining the territory of Ephraim, from the east side to the west, Reuben, one portion.

^18 (A)In those days the house of Judah shall join the house of Israel, and together they shall come from the land ^(B)of the north to ^(C)the land that I gave your fathers for a heritage.

² “Command the people of Israel, and say to them, When you enter ^(A)the land of Canaan ^(B)(this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, the land of Canaan as defined by its borders), ^3 (C)your south side shall be from the wilderness of Zin alongside Edom, and your southern border shall run from the end of ^(D)the Salt Sea on the east. ⁴ And your border shall turn south of ^(E)the ascent of Akrabbim, and cross to Zin, and its limit shall be south of Kadesh-barnea. Then it shall go on to ^(F)Hazar-addar, and pass along to Azmon. ⁵ And the border shall turn ^(G)from Azmon to ^(H)the Brook of Egypt, and its limit shall be at the sea.

⁶ “For the western border, you shall have the Great Sea and its^[a] coast. This shall be your western border.

⁷ “This shall be your northern border: from the Great Sea you shall draw a line to ^(I)Mount Hor. ⁸ From Mount Hor you shall draw a line ^(J)to Lebo-hamath, and the limit of the border shall be at ^(K)Zedad. ⁹ Then the border shall extend to Ziphron, and its limit shall be at ^(L)Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern border.

¹⁰ “You shall draw a line for your eastern border from Hazar-enan to Shepham. ¹¹ And the border shall go down from Shepham to ^(M)Riblah on the east side of Ain. And the border shall go down and reach to the shoulder of ^(N)the Sea of Chinnereth on the east. ¹² And the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its limit shall be at ^(O)the Salt Sea. This shall be your land as defined by its borders all around.”

⁵ And now your ^(A)two sons, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you in Egypt, ^(B)are mine; Ephraim and Manasseh shall be mine, as Reuben and Simeon are.

The Lord Will Turn Mourning to Joy

31 ^(A)“At that time, declares the Lord, ^(B)I will be the God of all the clans of Israel, and they shall be my people.”
