²⁸ “This shall be their inheritance: I am their inheritance, and you shall give them no holding in Israel; I am their holding.^(A)

²⁰ Then the Lord said to Aaron, “You shall have no allotment in their land, nor shall you have any share among them; I am your share and your possession among the Israelites.^(A)

³³ But to the tribe of Levi Moses gave no inheritance; the Lord God of Israel is their inheritance, as he said to them.^(A)

Privileges of Priests and Levites

18 “The Levitical priests, the whole tribe of Levi, shall have no allotment or inheritance within Israel. They may eat the offerings by fire^[a] that are the Lord’s portion,^{[b](A) 2} but they shall have no inheritance among the other members of the community; the Lord is their inheritance, as he promised them.

⁹ Therefore Levi has no allotment or inheritance with his kindred; the Lord is his inheritance, as the Lord your God promised him.)^(A)

⁴ It shall be a holy portion of the land; it shall be for the priests who minister in the sanctuary and approach the Lord to minister to him, and it shall be both a place for their houses and a holy place for the sanctuary.^(A)

² to tend the flock of God that is in your charge, exercising the oversight,^[a] not under compulsion but willingly, as God would have you do it,^[b] not for sordid gain but eagerly.^{(A) 3} Do not lord it over those in your charge, but be examples to the flock.^{(B) 4} And when the chief shepherd appears, you will win the crown of glory that never fades away.^(C)

⁹ The portion that you shall set apart for the Lord shall be twenty-five thousand cubits in length and twenty^[a] thousand in width. ¹⁰ These shall be the allotments of the holy portion: the priests shall have an allotment measuring twenty-five thousand cubits on the northern side, ten thousand cubits in width on the western side, ten thousand in width on the eastern side, and twenty-five thousand in length on the southern side, with the sanctuary of the Lord in the middle of it.^{(A) 11} As for the consecrated priests, the descendants^[b] of Zadok who kept my charge, who did not go astray when the people of Israel went astray, as the Levites did,^(B)
