26 Such a high priest(A) truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners,(B) exalted above the heavens.(C) 27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices(D) day after day, first for his own sins,(E) and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all(F) when he offered himself.(G) 28 For the law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness;(H) but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son,(I) who has been made perfect(J) forever.

14 He then presented the bull(A) for the sin offering,(B) and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.(C) 15 Moses slaughtered the bull and took some of the blood,(D) and with his finger he put it on all the horns of the altar(E) to purify the altar.(F) He poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. So he consecrated it to make atonement for it.(G) 16 Moses also took all the fat around the internal organs, the long lobe of the liver, and both kidneys and their fat, and burned it on the altar. 17 But the bull with its hide and its flesh and its intestines(H) he burned up outside the camp,(I) as the Lord commanded Moses.

18 He then presented the ram(J) for the burnt offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head. 19 Then Moses slaughtered the ram and splashed the blood against the sides of the altar. 20 He cut the ram into pieces and burned the head, the pieces and the fat.(K) 21 He washed the internal organs and the legs with water and burned the whole ram on the altar. It was a burnt offering, a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses.

22 He then presented the other ram, the ram for the ordination,(L) and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.(M) 23 Moses slaughtered the ram and took some of its blood and put it on the lobe of Aaron’s right ear, on the thumb of his right hand and on the big toe of his right foot.(N) 24 Moses also brought Aaron’s sons forward and put some of the blood on the lobes of their right ears, on the thumbs of their right hands and on the big toes of their right feet. Then he splashed blood against the sides of the altar.(O) 25 After that, he took the fat(P), the fat tail, all the fat around the internal organs, the long lobe of the liver, both kidneys and their fat and the right thigh. 26 And from the basket of bread made without yeast, which was before the Lord, he took one thick loaf, one thick loaf with olive oil mixed in, and one thin loaf,(Q) and he put these on the fat portions and on the right thigh. 27 He put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons, and they waved them before the Lord(R) as a wave offering. 28 Then Moses took them from their hands and burned them on the altar on top of the burnt offering as an ordination offering, a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the Lord. 29 Moses also took the breast, which was his share of the ordination ram,(S) and waved it before the Lord as a wave offering, as the Lord commanded Moses.

30 Then Moses(T) took some of the anointing oil and some of the blood from the altar and sprinkled them on Aaron and his garments(U) and on his sons and their garments. So he consecrated(V) Aaron and his garments and his sons and their garments.

31 Moses then said to Aaron and his sons, “Cook the meat at the entrance to the tent of meeting(W) and eat it there with the bread from the basket of ordination offerings, as I was commanded: ‘Aaron and his sons are to eat it.’ 32 Then burn up the rest of the meat and the bread. 33 Do not leave the entrance to the tent of meeting for seven days, until the days of your ordination are completed, for your ordination will last seven days.(X) 34 What has been done today was commanded by the Lord(Y) to make atonement for you. 35 You must stay at the entrance to the tent of meeting day and night for seven days and do what the Lord requires,(Z) so you will not die; for that is what I have been commanded.”

36 So Aaron and his sons did everything the Lord commanded through Moses.

He is to dip his finger into the blood and sprinkle(I) some of it seven times before the Lord,(J) in front of the curtain of the sanctuary.(K) The priest shall then put some of the blood on the horns(L) of the altar of fragrant incense that is before the Lord in the tent of meeting. The rest of the bull’s blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar(M) of burnt offering(N) at the entrance to the tent of meeting. He shall remove all the fat(O) from the bull of the sin offering—all the fat that is connected to the internal organs, both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which he will remove with the kidneys(P) 10 just as the fat is removed from the ox[b](Q) sacrificed as a fellowship offering.(R) Then the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering.(S) 11 But the hide of the bull and all its flesh, as well as the head and legs, the internal organs and the intestines(T) 12 that is, all the rest of the bull—he must take outside the camp(U) to a place ceremonially clean,(V) where the ashes(W) are thrown, and burn it(X) there in a wood fire on the ash heap.(Y)

In this way the priest will make atonement(AO) for the community, and they will be forgiven.(AP) 21 Then he shall take the bull outside the camp(AQ) and burn it as he burned the first bull. This is the sin offering for the community.(AR)

22 “‘When a leader(AS) sins unintentionally(AT) and does what is forbidden in any of the commands of the Lord his God, when he realizes his guilt 23 and the sin he has committed becomes known, he must bring as his offering a male goat(AU) without defect. 24 He is to lay his hand on the goat’s head and slaughter it at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered before the Lord.(AV) It is a sin offering.(AW) 25 Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar(AX) of burnt offering and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.(AY) 26 He shall burn all the fat on the altar as he burned the fat of the fellowship offering.
