^21 (A)No priest shall drink wine when he enters the inner court.

^9 (A)“Do not drink wine or intoxicating drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the tabernacle of meeting, lest you die. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations,

⁷ For a ^[a]bishop must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, ^(A)not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, ⁸ but hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled,

²³ No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent ^[a]infirmities.

Qualifications of Deacons

⁸ Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, ^(A)not given to much wine, not greedy for money,

¹⁵ For he will be ^(A)great in the sight of the Lord, and ^(B)shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, ^(C)even from his mother’s womb.
