²⁰ ‘You shall take some of its blood and put it on the four horns of the altar, on the four corners of the ledge, and on the rim around it; thus you shall cleanse it and make atonement for it.

¹⁹ Then he shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, cleanse it, and ^(A)consecrate^[a] it from the ^[b]uncleanness of the children of Israel.

¹⁵ and Moses killed it. ^(A)Then he took the blood, and put some on the horns of the altar all around with his finger, and purified the altar. And he poured the blood at the base of the altar, and consecrated it, to make ^[a]atonement for it.

²⁶ Seven days they shall make atonement for the altar and purify it, and so ^[a]consecrate ^[b]it.

²² On the second day you shall offer a kid of the goats without blemish for a sin offering; and they shall cleanse the altar, as they cleansed it with the bull.

⁹ Then the sons of Aaron brought the blood to him. And he dipped his finger in the blood, put it on the horns of the altar, and poured the blood at the base of the altar.

³⁶ And you ^(A)shall offer a bull every day as a sin offering for atonement. ^(B)You shall cleanse the altar when you make atonement for it, and you shall anoint it to sanctify it.

¹² You shall take some of the blood of the bull and put it on ^(A)the horns of the altar with your finger, and ^(B)pour all the blood beside the base of the altar.

²¹ Then likewise ^(A)he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. ²² And according to the law almost all things are ^[a]purified with blood, and ^(B)without shedding of blood there is no ^[b]remission.

Greatness of Christ’s Sacrifice

²³ Therefore it was necessary that ^(C)the copies of the things in the heavens should be ^[c]purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

¹⁵ The altar hearth is four cubits high, with four ^(A)horns extending upward from the ^[a]hearth. ¹⁶ The altar hearth is twelve cubits long, twelve wide, ^(B)square at its four corners; ¹⁷ the ledge, fourteen cubits long and fourteen wide on its four sides, with a rim of half a cubit around it; its base, one cubit all around; and ^(C)its steps face toward the east.”
