¹⁷ The ledge also shall be square, fourteen cubits long by fourteen wide, with a rim around it half a cubit high, and its surrounding base, one cubit. Its steps shall face east.”^(A)

²⁶ You shall not go up by steps to my altar, so that your nakedness may not be exposed on it.

⁶ Then he went into the gateway facing east, going up its steps, and measured the threshold of the gate, one reed deep.^[a] There were^(A)

¹⁶ And he brought me into the inner court of the house of the Lord; there, at the entrance of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs to the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east, prostrating themselves to the sun toward the east.^(A)

³² with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord. Then he made a trench around the altar, large enough to contain two measures of seed.^(A)

⁸ The entrance for the lower^[a] story was on the south side of the house: one went up by winding stairs to the middle story and from the middle story to the third.

³ You shall overlay it with pure gold, its top and its sides all around and its horns, and you shall make for it a molding of gold all around.

²⁵ You shall make around it a rim a handbreadth wide and a molding of gold around the rim.
