43 Afterward he brought me to the gate, the gate ^(A)that faces toward the east.

44 Then He brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary ^(A)which faces toward the east, but it was shut.

¹⁵ Now when he had finished measuring the inner ^[a]temple, he brought me out through the gateway that faces toward the ^(A)east, and measured it all around.

46 ‘Thus says the Lord God: “The gateway of the inner court that faces toward the east shall be shut the six ^(A)working days; but on the Sabbath it shall be opened, and on the day of the New Moon it shall be opened.

The Eastern Gateway of the Temple

⁶ Then he went to the gateway which faced ^(A)east; and he went up its stairs and measured the threshold of the gateway, which was one rod wide, and the other threshold was one rod wide.

¹⁹ And ^(A)the cherubim lifted their wings and mounted up from the earth in my sight. When they went out, the wheels were beside them; and they stood at the door of the ^(B)east gate of the Lord’s house, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them.
