The Temple's Chambers

42 Then he led me out into ^(A)the outer court, ^(B)toward the north, and he brought me to ^(C)the chambers that were opposite ^(D)the separate yard and opposite ^(E)the building on the north.

The North Gate

²⁰ As for ^(A)the gate that faced toward the north, belonging to ^(B)the outer court, he measured its length and its breadth.

The Outer Court

¹⁷ Then he brought me into ^(A)the outer court. And behold, there were ^(B)chambers and a ^(C)pavement, all around the court. ^(D)Thirty chambers faced the pavement.

¹³ Then he said to me, “The north chambers and the south chambers opposite ^(A)the yard are the holy chambers, ^(B)where the priests who approach the Lord ^(C)shall eat the ^(D)most holy offerings. There they shall put the most holy offerings—^(E)the grain offering, ^(F)the sin offering, and ^(G)the guilt offering—for the place is holy.

⁴ And ^(A)before the chambers was a passage inward, ten cubits wide and ^(B)a hundred cubits long,^[a] and ^(C)their doors were on the north.

¹² The building that was facing ^(A)the separate yard on the west side was seventy cubits broad, and the wall of the building was five cubits thick all around, and its length ninety cubits.

¹³ Then he measured the temple, ^(B)a hundred cubits long; and the yard and the building with its walls, a hundred cubits long; ¹⁴ also the breadth of the east front of the temple and the yard, a hundred cubits.

¹⁵ Then he measured the length of ^(C)the building facing the yard that was at the back and ^(D)its galleries^[a] on either side, a hundred cubits.

The Inner Temple

41 Then he brought me to ^(A)the nave and measured the ^(B)jambs. On each side six cubits^[a] was the breadth of the jambs.^[b]

² but do not measure ^(A)the court outside the temple; leave that out, for ^(B)it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for ^(C)forty-two months.
