^4 (A)He measured the length, twenty cubits; and the width, twenty cubits, beyond the sanctuary; and he said to me, “This is the Most Holy Place.”

²⁰ The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty cubits high. He overlaid it with pure gold, and overlaid the altar of cedar.

^3 (A)and behind the second veil, the part of the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of All, ⁴ which had the ^(B)golden censer and ^(C)the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which were ^(D)the golden pot that had the manna, ^(E)Aaron’s rod that budded, and ^(F)the tablets of the covenant; ⁵ and ^(G)above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail.

Limitations of the Earthly Service

⁶ Now when these things had been thus prepared, ^(H)the priests always went into the first part of the tabernacle, performing the services. ⁷ But into the second part the high priest went alone ^(I)once a year, not without blood, which he offered for ^(J)himself and for the people’s sins committed in ignorance; ⁸ the Holy Spirit indicating this, that ^(K)the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing.

⁸ And he made the ^(A)Most Holy Place. Its length was according to the width of the house, twenty cubits, and its width twenty cubits. He overlaid it with six hundred talents of fine gold.

³³ And you shall hang the veil from the clasps. Then you shall bring ^(A)the ark of the Testimony in there, behind the veil. The veil shall be a divider for you between ^(B)the holy place and the Most Holy. ^34 (C)You shall put the mercy seat upon the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy.

¹⁶ The city is laid out as a square; its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand ^[a]furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal.

¹⁶ Then he built the twenty-cubit room at the rear of the temple, from floor to ceiling, with cedar boards; he built it inside as the inner sanctuary, as the ^(A)Most Holy Place.

⁵ Against the wall of the ^[a]temple he built ^(A)chambers all around, against the walls of the temple, all around the sanctuary ^(B)and the ^[b]inner sanctuary. Thus he made side chambers all around it.
