¹⁸ It was carved of ^(A)cherubim and ^(B)palm trees, a palm tree between cherub and cherub. Every cherub had two faces:

³⁶ And on the surfaces of its stays and on its panels, he carved cherubim, lions, and palm trees, according to the space of each, with wreaths all around.

¹⁶ And the gateway had ^(A)windows all around, narrowing inwards toward the side rooms and toward their ^(B)jambs, and likewise the vestibule had windows all around inside, and on the jambs were ^(C)palm trees.

²² And ^(A)its windows, its vestibule, and ^(B)its palm trees were of the same size as those of the gate that faced toward the east. And by seven steps ^(C)people would go up to it, and find its vestibule before them.

^21 (A)Each had four faces, and each four wings, and underneath their wings ^(B)the likeness of human hands.

⁷ So he lined the house with gold—its beams, its thresholds, its walls, and its doors—^(A)and he carved cherubim on the walls.

A Great Multitude from Every Nation

⁹ After this I looked, and behold, ^(A)a great multitude that no one could number, ^(B)from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, ^(C)clothed in white robes, with ^(D)palm branches in their hands,

^7 (A)the first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight. ⁸ And the four living creatures, ^(B)each of them with six wings, are ^(C)full of eyes all around and within, and ^(D)day and night they never cease to say,

⁹ And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, ^(G)who lives forever and ever,

²⁵ And on the doors of the nave were carved cherubim and palm trees, ^(A)such as were carved on the walls. And there was ^(B)a canopy^[a] of wood in front of ^(C)the vestibule outside.
