⁶ Then he went to the east gate.^(A) He climbed its steps and measured the threshold of the gate; it was one rod deep.

God’s Glory Returns to the Temple

43 Then the man brought me to the gate facing east,^(A)

¹⁶ He then brought me into the inner court^(A) of the house of the Lord, and there at the entrance to the temple, between the portico and the altar,^(B) were about twenty-five men. With their backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east, they were bowing down to the sun^(C) in the east.^(D)

The North Gate

²⁰ Then he measured the length and width of the north gate, leading into the outer court.

God’s Sure Judgment on Jerusalem

11 Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the gate of the house of the Lord that faces east. There at the entrance of the gate were twenty-five men, and I saw among them Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah^(A) son of Benaiah, leaders^(B) of the people.^(C)

¹⁸ Then the glory^(A) of the Lord departed from over the threshold of the temple and stopped above the cherubim.^(B)

² and go out to the Valley of Ben Hinnom,^(A) near the entrance of the Potsherd Gate. There proclaim the words I tell you,

²⁹ Next to them, Zadok son of Immer made repairs opposite his house. Next to him, Shemaiah son of Shekaniah, the guard at the East Gate, made repairs.

²⁴ The gatekeepers were on the four sides: east, west, north and south.
