The New Temple

⁴⁸ He brought me to the portico of the temple^(A) and measured the jambs of the portico; they were five cubits wide on either side. The width of the entrance was fourteen cubits^[a] and its projecting walls were^[b] three cubits^[c] wide on either side.

⁴ The portico at the front of the temple was twenty cubits^[a] long across the width of the building and twenty^[b] cubits high.

He overlaid the inside with pure gold.

³ The portico^(A) at the front of the main hall of the temple extended the width of the temple, that is twenty cubits,^[a] and projected ten cubits^[b] from the front of the temple.
