⁴⁴ On the outside of the inner gateway there were two chambers^[a] in the inner court, one^[b] at the side of the north gate facing south, the other at the side of the south^[c] gate facing north.^(A)

³¹ These are the men whom David put in charge of the service of song in the house of the Lord, after the ark came to rest there.^{(A) 32} They ministered with song before the tabernacle of the tent of meeting until Solomon had built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, and they performed their service in due order.

²⁷ There was a gate on the south of the inner court, and he measured from gate to gate toward the south, one hundred cubits.^(A)

²³ Opposite the gate on the north, as on the east, was a gate to the inner court; he measured from gate to gate, one hundred cubits.^(A)

⁴¹ With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the rest of those chosen and expressly named to render thanks to the Lord, for his steadfast love endures forever.^{(A) 42} Heman and Jeduthun had with them trumpets and cymbals for the music and instruments for sacred song. The sons of Jeduthun were appointed to the gate.

⁴³ Then all the people departed to their homes, and David went home to bless his household.

³⁸ There was a chamber with its door in the vestibule of the gate^[a] where the burnt offering was to be washed.^(A)

²⁹ Its recesses, its posts, and its vestibule were of the same size as the others, and there were windows all around in it and in its vestibule; its depth was fifty cubits and its width twenty-five cubits.^(A)

¹⁷ Then he brought me into the outer court; there were chambers there and a pavement all around the court; thirty chambers fronted on the pavement.^(A)
