¹³ Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all its young warriors^[a] will say to you, “Have you come to seize spoil? Have you assembled your horde to carry off plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to seize a great amount of spoil?”^(A)

¹⁵ The Rhodians^[a] traded with you; many coastlands were your own special markets; they brought you in payment ivory tusks and ebony.^(A)

² Mortal, raise a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him:

²² The merchants of Sheba and Raamah traded with you; they exchanged for your wares the best of all kinds of spices and all precious stones and gold.^{(A) 23} Haran, Canneh, Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad traded with you.^(B)

¹² Tarshish did business with you out of the abundance of your great wealth; silver, iron, tin, and lead they exchanged for your wares.^(A)

¹³ See, I am against you, says the Lord of hosts, and I will burn your^[a] chariots in smoke, and the sword shall devour your young lions; I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your messengers shall be heard no more.^(C)

²⁵ The ships of Tarshish traveled for you in your trade.

²⁰ Dedan traded with you in saddlecloths for riding.

¹³ therefore thus says the Lord God: I will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off from it humans and animals, and I will make it desolate; from Teman even to Dedan they shall fall by the sword.^(A)
