¹² to seize spoil and carry off plunder, to turn your hand against ^(A)the waste places that are now inhabited, and ^(B)the people who were gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, ^(C)who dwell at the center of the earth.

^8 (A)After many days you will be mustered. ^(B)In the latter years you will go against ^(C)the land that is restored from war, the land whose people ^(D)were gathered from many peoples upon ^(E)the mountains of Israel, which had been a continual waste. Its people were brought out from the peoples and ^(F)now dwell securely, all of them.

¹⁹ Therefore thus says the Lord God: ^(A)Behold, I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; ^(B)and he shall carry off its wealth^{[a] (C)}and despoil it and plunder it; and it shall be the wages for his army.

The Shepherd Struck

¹⁷ Cry out again, Thus says the Lord of hosts: ^(A)My cities shall again overflow with prosperity, ^(B)and the Lord will again comfort Zion and again ^(C)choose Jerusalem.’”

¹² Then ^(A)the angel of the Lord said, ^(B)‘O Lord of hosts, ^(C)how long will you ^(D)have no mercy on Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, against which you have been angry these ^(E)seventy years?’
