⁷ So I prophesied ^(A)as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, ^(B)a rattling,^[a] and the bones came together, bone to its bone.

² And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like ^(A)a mighty rushing wind, and ^(B)it filled the entire house where they were sitting.

²⁰ “Go and stand in the temple and speak to the people all ^(A)the words of ^(B)this ^(C)Life.” ²¹ And when they heard this, ^(D)they entered the temple ^(E)at daybreak and began to teach.

Now when the high priest came, and those who were with him, they called together the council, all the senate of the people of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought. ²² But when the officers came, they did not find them in the prison, so they returned and reported, ²³ “We found the prison securely locked and the guards standing at the doors, but when we opened them we found no one inside.” ²⁴ Now when ^(F)the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these words, they were greatly perplexed about them, wondering what this would come to. ²⁵ And someone came and told them, “Look! The men whom you put in prison ^(G)are standing in the temple and teaching the people.” ²⁶ Then ^(H)the captain with the officers went and brought them, but not by force, for ^(I)they were afraid of being stoned by the people.

²⁷ And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest questioned them, ²⁸ saying, ^(J)“We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you ^(K)intend to bring this man's blood upon us.” ²⁹ But Peter and the apostles answered, ^(L)“We must obey God rather than men.

¹¹ And he said, “Go out and ^(A)stand on the mount before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and ^(B)a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind ^(C)an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. ¹² And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper.^{[a] 13} And when Elijah heard it, ^(D)he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And behold, ^(E)there came a voice to him and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

²⁶ and suddenly ^(A)there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately ^(B)all the doors were opened, and ^(C)everyone's bonds were unfastened. ²⁷ When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and ^(D)was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. ²⁸ But Paul cried with a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.” ²⁹ And the jailer^[a] called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he ^(E)fell down before Paul and Silas.

¹⁹ But Peter and John answered them, ^(A)“Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge,

³⁷ Now when ^(A)they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, ^(B)what shall we do?”

⁸ And when Jeremiah had finished speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speak to all the people, then ^(A)the priests and the prophets and all the people laid hold of him, saying, “You shall die!

⁵ So I went and hid it by the Euphrates, as the Lord commanded me. ⁶ And after many days the Lord said to me, “Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take from there ^(A)the loincloth that I commanded you to hide there.” ⁷ Then I went to the Euphrates, and dug, and I took ^(B)the loincloth from the place where I had hidden it. And behold, the loincloth was ^(C)spoiled; it was ^(D)good for nothing.
