³⁷ “Thus says the Lord God: This also ^(A)I will let the house of Israel ask me to do for them: ^(B)to increase their people like ^(C)a flock.

²¹ and since we have ^(A)a great priest over the house of God, ²² let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts ^(B)sprinkled clean ^(C)from an evil conscience and our bodies ^(D)washed with pure water.

^3 (A)“Son of man, these men have taken their idols into their hearts, and set ^(B)the stumbling block of their iniquity before their faces. ^(C)Should I indeed let myself be consulted by them?

¹⁴ And this is ^(A)the confidence that we have toward him, that ^(B)if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

^3 (A)“Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God, Is it to inquire of me that you come? ^(B)As I live, declares the Lord God, ^(C)I will not be inquired of by you.

² You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. ³ You ask and do not receive, because you ask ^(A)wrongly, to spend it on your passions.

^16 (A)Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
