¹⁹ “God^(A) is not a man, that He should lie,
Nor a son of man, that He should repent.
Has He ^(B)said, and will He not do?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

⁴ “I will heal their ^(A)backsliding,
I will ^(B)love them freely,
For My anger has turned away from him.
⁵ I will be like the ^(C)dew to Israel;
He shall ^[a]grow like the lily,
And ^[b]lengthen his roots like Lebanon.
⁶ His branches shall ^[c]spread;
^(D)His beauty shall be like an olive tree,
And ^(E)his fragrance like Lebanon.
^7 (F)Those who dwell under his shadow shall return;
They shall be revived like grain,
And ^[d]grow like a vine.
Their ^[e]scent shall be like the wine of Lebanon.

⁸ “Ephraim shall say, ‘What have I to do anymore with idols?’
I have heard and observed him.
I am like a green cypress tree;
^(G)Your fruit is found in Me.”

⁹ Who is wise?
Let him understand these things.
Who is prudent?
Let him know them.
For ^(H)the ways of the Lord are right;
The righteous walk in them,
But transgressors stumble in them.

¹⁵ “As^(A) in the days when you came out of the land of Egypt,
I will show ^[a]them ^(B)wonders.”

¹⁶ The nations ^(C)shall see and be ashamed of all their might;
^(D)They shall put their hand over their mouth;
Their ears shall be deaf.
¹⁷ They shall lick the ^(E)dust like a serpent;
^(F)They shall crawl from their holes like ^[b]snakes of the earth.
^(G)They shall be afraid of the Lord our God,
And shall fear because of You.
