²² I will save my flock, and they will no longer be plundered. I will judge between one sheep and another.^(A)

² Therefore this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says to the shepherds^(A) who tend my people: “Because you have scattered my flock^(B) and driven them away and have not bestowed care on them, I will bestow punishment on you for the evil^(C) you have done,” declares the Lord. ³ “I myself will gather the remnant^(D) of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them and will bring them back to their pasture,^(E) where they will be fruitful and increase in number.

¹⁰ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against^(A) the shepherds and will hold them accountable for my flock. I will remove them from tending the flock so that the shepherds can no longer feed themselves. I will rescue^(B) my flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.^(C)

⁷ So I shepherded the flock marked for slaughter,^(A) particularly the oppressed of the flock. Then I took two staffs and called one Favor and the other Union, and I shepherded the flock. ⁸ In one month I got rid of the three shepherds.

The flock detested^(B) me, and I grew weary of them ⁹ and said, “I will not be your shepherd. Let the dying die, and the perishing perish.^(C) Let those who are left eat^(D) one another’s flesh.”
