¹⁸ Is it too little for you to have eaten up the good pasture, that you must tread down with your feet the ^[a]residue of your pasture—and to have drunk of the clear waters, that you must foul the residue with your feet?

^52 (A)“Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in you hindered.”

¹³ “But ^(A)woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.

² “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God to the shepherds: ^(A)“Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks? ^3 (B)You eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool; you ^(C)slaughter the fatlings, but you do not feed the flock.

¹³ Then he said, “Hear now, O house of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also?

¹⁹ And yet this was a small thing in Your sight, O Lord God; and You have also spoken of Your servant’s house for a great while to come. ^(A)Is this the manner of man, O Lord God?

¹³ Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of ^(A)a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, that you should ^(B)keep acting like a prince over us?

⁹ Is it ^(A)a small thing to you that the God of Israel has ^(B)separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to Himself, to do the work of the tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the congregation to serve them;

⁶ then he need not honor his father ^[a]or mother.’ Thus you have made the ^[b]commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. ^7 (A)Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:
