¹⁰ Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I am ^(A)against the shepherds, and ^(B)I will require My flock at their hand; I will cause them to cease feeding the sheep, and the shepherds shall ^(C)feed themselves no more; for I will ^(D)deliver My flock from their mouths, that they may no longer be food for them.”

² “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God to the shepherds: ^(A)“Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

⁸ Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Because you have spoken nonsense and envisioned lies, therefore I am indeed against you,” says the Lord God.

^17 (A)Obey those who ^[a]rule over you, and be submissive, for ^(B)they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

¹³ “Behold, ^(A)I am against you,” says the Lord of hosts, “I will burn ^[a]your chariots in smoke, and the sword shall devour your young lions; I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your ^(B)messengers shall be heard no more.”

⁸ “As I live,” says the Lord God, “surely because My flock became a prey, and My flock ^(A)became food for every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, nor did My shepherds search for My flock, ^(B)but the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed My flock”—

⁸ therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Indeed I, even I, am against you and will execute judgments in your midst in the sight of the nations.
