^6 (A)But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, ^(B)that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand.

^18 (A)If I say to the wicked, ^(B)‘You shall surely die,’ ^(C)and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person ^(D)shall die for^[a] his iniquity, ^(E)but his blood I will require at your hand. ^19 (F)But if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall die for his iniquity, ^(G)but you ^(H)will have delivered your soul. ^20 (I)Again, if a righteous person turns from his righteousness and commits injustice, ^(J)and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die. ^(K)Because you have not warned him, he shall die for his sin, ^(L)and his righteous deeds that he has done shall not be remembered, ^(M)but his blood I will require at your hand.

^8 (A)If I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die, ^(B)and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, ^(C)that wicked person shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. ^9 (D)But if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, ^(E)that person shall die in his iniquity, ^(F)but you will have delivered your soul.

¹¹ How much more, when wicked men have killed a righteous man in his own house on his bed, shall I not now ^(A)require his blood at your hand and destroy you from the earth?”

²² And Reuben answered them, ^(A)“Did I not tell you not to sin against the boy? But you did not listen. So now ^(B)there comes a reckoning for his blood.”

^20 (A)The soul who sins shall die. ^(B)The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. ^(C)The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, ^(D)and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.

⁵ And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: ^(A)from every beast I will require it and ^(B)from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man.

²¹ So he said to them again, ^(A)“I am going away, and ^(B)you will seek me, and ^(C)you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come.” ²² So the Jews said, ^(D)“Will he kill himself, since he says, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come’?” ²³ He said to them, ^(E)“You are from below; I am from above. ^(F)You are of this world; ^(G)I am not of this world. ²⁴ I told you that you ^(H)would die in your sins, for ^(I)unless you believe that ^(J)I am he you will die in your sins.”

¹⁰ Thus says the Lord God, ^(A)Behold, I am against the shepherds, and ^(B)I will require my sheep at their hand and ^(C)put a stop to their feeding the sheep. ^(D)No longer shall the shepherds feed themselves. ^(E)I will rescue my sheep from their mouths, that they may not be food for them.
